December Events Recapped!

10 Dec

Snappy Hour

This December is a busy month for everyone – but we still managed to get together a few times before the holiday season came into full swing. On December 1st, our second Snappy Hour was hosted at Smokin’ Betty’s in Center City – a new and fabulous little spot that features top notch cocktails and an impressive bar menu. It was a cold, miserable rainy night, but a few new faces (and many familiar ones!) came out to meet the group despite the discouraging weather and as usual, great conversation and new inspiring ideas ensued! Suggestions were made for 2011 events and the Photo Betties Directory was born! And for any foodies out there, if you happen to pay Smokin’ Betty ‘s a visit, definitely partake in the Grilled Cheese and The Root of All Evil!

Leah MacDonald at her Opening at the Wexler, Dec 3rd 2010

First Friday

But that’s not all for December. On First Friday the 3rd, the Betties came out to support Leah MacDonald’s fabulous exhibit opening at The Wexler Gallery. A stunning and inspiring body of work spanning 20 years of her photographic vision were displayed and the gallery was PACKED.

Deservedly so, Leah’s images are moving in ways indescribable! While absorbing the power of her imagery, her photography truly reminded us all of the “art” that sometimes can get lost in our daily pursuits. So we each left with a firm promise to ourselves to always remember to stay true to our artistic visions as we point, aim and shoot! If you haven’t stopped by to take in this amazing exhibit, you’re missing out on some amazing stuff. Make it a holiday-style date night, pop in while you do some last minute shopping in Old City – but whatever you do, make sure you drop in on the Wexler this month. You won’t be sorry. We promise.
