Save The Ta-Tas!

11 Oct

Yup, it’s that time of year again. Leaves are changing, iced coffees become hot ciders, and I suddenly start craving everything pumpkin flavored. Fall trends are now in full swing, and October’s hottest color? Why, pink of course! There are pink ribbons, pink lids, even pink cleats and wristbands in the NFL as the world shows its support for breast cancer awareness. The Gallery 13, a fine art photography gallery in Asbury Park, New Jersey is joining the brigade with its “Pho Ta-Ta graphy” show opening November 6, 2010.

This open exhibition will celebrate the female nude with a portion of the proceeds going to The  Booker Cancer Center at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. This locally based charity offers the most comprehensive spectrum of cancer care and treatment services in the area. It was important for the Gallery 13 to choose a local charity as we are a local gallery; we pride ourselves on being an accessible and affordable gallery where emerging artists have the opportunity to exhibit their work to gain mainstream exposure. It is even more meaningful that local art may help our local women as they take on the fight of their lives. We hope you will come and share the evening with us on Saturday, November 6 from 6-10 p.m. See some fantastic art and support a great cause all while exploring one of the most unique cities on the Jersey Shore! If you are interested in submitting artwork or contributing a donation to the Booker Cancer Center, please contact Alix Passage at  alexandrapassage@gmail.com or visit our website www.thegallery13.com.

Awesome post Alix! It’s wonderful that you’re holding an event for a great cause – and so inspiring to learn about Gallery 13! I’ve got an event that day, but will be sure to pass this along to friends who may be able to attend…
